A giant mechanical spider has appeared in Liverpool. Costing £1.8 million the spider was commissioned as part of the cities celebrations as European City of Culture 2008. Initially it appeared on the side of a tower block before descending and stalking the streets of the city. People may find it beautiful or terrifying but it’s certainly fascinating.
